Carmelo Anthony has not played a game in the NBA, since November 11th, 2018 as a member of the Houston Rockets.

During his final game with the Rockets, he scored only two points and grabbed five rebounds finishing the game shooting one percent from the field. Rockets’ general manager Daryl Morey would then inform the future Hall of Famer Carmelo Anthony, that his services were no longer needed. Back in December, Morey was a guest on The Haberstroh Show and shared that Melo didn’t fit the plans in terms of their defensive scheme.

“But in terms of like how things evolved for us and our heavy use of the switching defense…that was one thing that wasn’t a perfect fit,” he said. “It really is mostly on me, honestly. I saw the fit there and really didn’t go the way I thought it would.”

Earlier this month, Melo was a guest on First Take and told his side of the story on national television.

“He came in and basically said, ‘Look, your services are no longer needed,'” Anthony said of his conversation with Morey. “I was like, ‘What? Hold up. What the hell are you talking about? … You telling me I can’t make a 9-, 10-man rotation on this team?'”

This past Saturday, Gilbert Arenas shared with us why Carmelo Anthony should play for the Los Angeles Lakers.  “Los Angeles need someone that can get a bucket in the half-court and right now they don’t have that actual guy. Kuzma is great, but I don’t think he is ready to take over games. Ingram was that guy, but he is no longer there, so they need a guy that can get a bucket in the last few minutes of the game. So, LeBron can do what Lebron does and get other people involved in the offense.”
